New Version of Flock in the Pipeline
January 28, 2008 – 4:09 pmEvan Hamilton, Flock’s “Community Ambassador”, gives a brief overview of the features planned for Flock 1.1, which is slated for release in a few weeks. Though I haven’t actually tried the browser for a shamefully long time, I’ve always been a big fan and proponent of Flock’s vision. I’m still not convinced that creating an entirely new browser is the right way to achieve this vision. The barriers to creating a successful new brand in the browser space are simply too daunting. But I’m always delighted to be proven wrong (and preferably ridiculed in public for my lack of prescience).
As it transpires, I’m planning a new “Browser of the Week” series, starting next Monday, where I spend each week with a different browser and then give my impressions. It’s going to be tough to go a whole week without Firefox, but I’m bravely committed to sacrificing myself for the benefit of Just Browsing readers. I’ll be keenly awaiting the release of Flock 1.1 so I can give it a spin.

Hey man,
Like the browser of the week idea. Is there any chance while you are doing this you could team up with us here at The Phoenix Fox Project (www.phoenixfox.info) and write a second version of each review so that the average internet user can understand not just the techie people?
Please get in contact with me over this at phoenix@phoenixfox.info
Thanks
Nice blog by the way

I don’t suppose I’ll have time to write a second article, but I will try to include as much non-technical commentary as possible, which you are welcome to summarize on your time (with attribution, of course).

To go weeks without Firefox is just plain scary
